Beware of Caller ID Spoofing

Beware of Caller ID Spoofing

Authored By: TCT FCU on 9/25/2023

Caller ID Spoofing is when a caller deliberately falsifies the information transmitted to your Caller ID display to disguise their identity.

TCT's phone numbers may be spoofed by fraudsters. The callers will attempt to convince you that they work for, or on behalf of TCT. They are trying to convince you to provide them with credit or debit card numbers and personal information so that they can steal your money.

Please be assured that TCT will never ask for; your full credit or debit card number, the security code on the back of your card, your PIN, or your online banking login credentials, over the phone. It’s best to hang up with the person who called you and then dial TCT yourself.

To help eliminate unwanted calls, add your phone number to the National Do Not Call Registry by visiting https://www.donotcall.gov/
