Description: | In Memoriam of Paul Hutzky, longtime TCT Board Director A Note from Curt Cecala, TCT President and CEOJanuary 20, 2022 TCT lost a special man in Paul Hutzky, who passed away on January 12th. Paul was a great steward as a Board Director for TCT. His commitment to TCT and our members is a pillar in the foundation of who we are today. For those of us who knew Paul personally we will remember him for that, but we will remember him most for his love of life, passion, and most importantly, the concern he always had for you as a person. Paul served on TCT Federal Credit Union’s Board for 29 years. Paul was Board Chair from 2002 until his final year on the Board in 2015. Before that, he was Vice-Chair from 1989 to 2002. He was also TCT’s first Emeritus Director from 2015 to 2017. When I hear Members’ First, or People over Profits, I think of Paul. He embodied the credit union spirit. He was a champion for credit unions, TCT, and steadfast that we are about helping our members. When he first joined the Board in 1986, TCT was a little over $5 million in assets, $3 million-plus in loans, and just over 3,500 members. TCT had very little reserves for many years, and if it were under today’s regulations, would likely have been merged into another credit union. As we know, TCT persevered, and in Paul’s final year as Chair, TCT grew to over 12,000 members, $104 million in loans, and over $160 million in assets. Paul enjoyed people and loved conversation even more. Every time he visited an office, he would walk around and greet each employee. He would take time to have a conversation with each person he met. He asked how you and your family are doing, and always thanked you for the work you did at the credit union. His smile and positivity were infectious, and he was genuine in his care for you as a person. Paul was 86 years old when he left us. We want to express our sympathies to his family and children. We will remember him fondly for his leadership and most importantly, for the wonderful and caring man that he was. |
