Cambridge Math Nights
TCT Staff volunteered at the Cambridge Central School Math Nights. K-5th-grade students and families learned about math (and money) as they toured 40 stations incorporating math and movement.
“The kids would hop and count the specified number, for example, "100", then "pennies" (whatever coin it was) then "makes 1 dollar". They would continue to hop and say "20, nickels, makes 1 dollar", "10, dimes, makes one dollar", and so on. This type of learning helps kids get moving more and can help both sides of the brain retain the information in numerous ways. We had a great time and it seemed as though the kiddos did as well!”
