About Us

Why TCT?

If you are considering whether TCT Federal Credit Union is a 'fit' for you, we hope these questions will help you make an informed decision.

Q | What makes TCT different or better than another bank or credit union?

A | We are a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperation. Whereas banks have a profit-driven business model, credit unions are people-driven. One example is when you call one of our offices, instead of hearing "Press 1 for this, Press 2 for that," you will hear; "Thank you for calling TCT, how may I help you?" No automated phone systems here, our staff are ready and able to assist you with any inquiry. We have no minimum balance requirement, no monthly maintenance fee, and we'll give you the first $5 to open your account

Q | What does 'TCT' stand for?

A | Originally TCT was an acronym for Tri-County Teachers. We were founded in 1959 by a small group of teachers who wanted the ability to loan each other money when banks would not. We have expanded and now serve over 120 member groups and over 12,000 members.

Q | How do your rates compare to other banks and credit unions? How about fees?

A | TCT rates are extremely competitive. Because we are a not-for-profit, the money we make goes to lowering lending rates, keeping fees to a minimum, and investing back into services. Plus, as a new member you are eligible for a loan rate discount up to .50%. Real estate, credit cards, student loans, and revolving lines of credit do not qualify for the rate discount..

Q | What if I travel and/or live out of the area for part of the year? I need a bank that has branches anywhere.

A | TCT is part of the Allpoint Network. We have 4 branches locally and over 55,000 surcharge-free ATM's across the U.S. and internationally, plus we offer online and mobile banking. Locate and ATM
